ORGANIC FARMING

ORGANIC FARMING ACTIVITY CONDUCTED BY BOTANY                                                                                                          AND       B.VOC      HORTICULTURE DEPARTMENT

Our horticulture department conducted a program on 11/02/2021 in the name of organic farming.

 

OBJECTIVES:

  • To Promote more usage of natural pesticides.
  • To Ensure the right soil cultivation at the right time.
  • To Keep and build good soil structure and fertility.
  • To Control pests, diseases and weeds

 

Our horticulture department conduct organic farming program on 11/02/2021. In the program our horticulture students sold some green leafy vegetables to all the P.R.G.C faculty.

Under organic farming program our students had cultivated Palak, Sorrel leaves, Mint, Amaranthus, Fenugreek, etc..,. Our students had used only organic fertilizers like FYM (farm yard manure) and fermented cow urine (jeevamrutham) as Manures.

In this program our principal sir Dr C Krishna garu have participated.

Lecturer in charge of the botany and B.voc horticulture department Smt.P.Sara Garu. gave a small speech about the importance of organic farming. Our principal Dr. C. Krishna garu appreciated the students of Horticulture.

 

Horticulture staff, P.Nicee, B.Aiswarya, Botany and Micro biology department staff P.Sara, V.Anitha, C.Abhinay, T.Niharika, V.saipriya, P.rajesh B.Ashok Rama Raju all staff members are participated in this program

 

OUTCOMES:

  • yields more nutritious and safe food.
  • the organic foods that are thought to be healthier and safer
  • organic farming uses fewer pesticides

counterbalanced by high er food costs for consumers
