JOB - CHART OF TEACHER – COUNSELLORS

ATTENDANCE OF WARDS

Ensure regular & complete attendance.
Consolidate monthly attendance of the concerned month. Post the same in the Central consolidation register on or before the 2nd of the next month.
The wards should be discouraged from being irregular. The list of candidates with poor attendance (i.e., below 80%) should be furnished to the Convener, Attendance Consolidation and O/o Principal forthwith.
Intimate parent/guardian for corrective action – promptly.

ACADEMIC PROGRESS:

Familiarize students with the concept of semester system.
Encourage them to obtain semester-wise syllabi and model papers of subjects at the very beginning of the semester concerned.
Monitor the academic performance of students in all subjects and post the marks/grades obtained in the individual progress cards.
Monitor the progress of the ward in Career Oriented Programme ( COP ) – if any
Check whether there is any backlog of subjects and papers. Facilitate student-teacher interaction on the backlog subjects as and when necessary.

PAYMENT OF FEES, DUES etc.,

Check payment of tuition fee, special fee etc., at the beginning of the semester. The payment should be ensured well within the scheduled time/deadline.
Monitor payment of prescribed exam. Fee within time and help fill up application forms of semester end exams.
Furnish the list of defaulters, if any to the office and Controller of Examinations – promptly.

PREPARTION OF STUDENT – PROFILES:

Prepare detailed profiles of students with their parental background; social & economic position etc., (detailed proforma is being supplied to all the counsellors)
Record the student’s participation and achievements in various co/extra curricular activities. Also elicit their interests / hobbies /strengths. Encourage them to participate in programmes suitable / relevant to them.
Maintain student profiles reflecting academic, co-curricular and extension activities, (Each teacher counselor will record / incorporate the growth, progress and personal data of each ward in a bound book.)

CAMPUS CLEANING :

Motivate wards to participate actively in Campus Cleaning Programme.
Organize groups / teams for tree-plantation programme / gardening / bush clearance wherever and whenever planned.

PSYCHOLOGICAL COUNSELLING :

Assume the role of foster- parent of wards and counsel them as & when necessary in the event of stress, psychological discrepancy and depression.

CAREER GUIDANCE :

Students should be constantly guided towards further studies / employment openings. Special care may be bestowed in case of final year (outgoing) students.

PARTICIPATION IN CO / EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

Motivate, guide and inspire wards to enthusiastically participate in co / extra-curricular activities – like sports, quizzing, essay-writing, drawing, music, N.S.S, N.C.C, field surveys etc.,
Record achievements worthy of appreciation.

GENERAL DISCIPLINE:

Help tone up the general discipline of the class by constantly monitoring wards.
Discourage students loitering aimlessly on the campus
Find ways of using collective energies of students for productive and socially useful activities.
Educate about gender equity.
Give publicity to anti – ragging act and the dire consequences of eve-teasing, ragging and other such unlawful activities.
