GUEST LECTURE BY YALLA SIVA PRASAD GARU FORMER SCIENTIST FROM ISRO, ON INDIAN SPACE PROGRAM, 21-11-2019.

A Guest Lecture on the occasion of SIR C.V RAMAN Birthday was organised on November 14, 2019.

Sri Yalla Siva Prasad Garu , former scientist- ISRO , was invited to deliver a talk on Indian Space programme.

A Brief Bio data of Yalla Shiva Prasad Garu :

â–ª He was born on January 31 , 1955 and he raised in one of our Godavari  districts i.e., Kakinada in East Godavari district.

â–ª He Graduated from Kerala University , Thiruvananthapuram in the branch of Mechanical Engineering in the year 1983.

â–ª He started his career by joining VIKRAM SARABHAI SPACE CENTRE  which is a major  space research centre of ISRO. He contributed 30 years in ISRO as Mechanical engineer.

â–ª He also been a part of many activities like Space raw materials, Mechanical testing activities, Ultra sounding testing activities.           

â–ª He got retired from his professional career in the year 2015.

â–ª He received Dr.A.P.J ABDUL KALAM AWARD for his great services towards ISRO.

â–ªAfter his retirement, he has been empowering many students about ISRO in space technologies.

Yalla  Siva Prasad garu first paid tributes to the great legend  Sri VIKRAM SARABHAI , the person behind the establishment of ISRO.

Talking about the dedication of Pandit  Jawaharlal Nehru, the vision of the then is now bearing fruits.

He also commended the support given by HOMI JAHANGEER BABA , The father of Atomic Energy of India.

Throughout the length and breadth of his talk Sri Siva Prasad garu tried to recollect the great times he had at ISRO.

 

He quizzed the students on various topics such as :

â–ªThe site selection of satellite launch both at India level and Global level.

â–ª Types of satellite

â–ª Orbits & their significance

â–ª Nature of satellites

â–ª Uses of satellite etc.,

 He congratulated the students who gave correct answers and then elaborated on the topics which they were  doubtful.

He felt very happy during interaction and lauded the faculty for motivating students towards ISRO and its activities.

He also mentioned about various websites related to space programmes where students can tap resources.

Sri  A.S.L.KAMESWARA RAO garu ,former scientist at DAE , who accompanied Yalla Siva Prasad garu too spoke in the programme . He said, as an Alumni of P.R.College, he was feeling proud  to be amidst your  children which made him remember his college  & school days.

He also expressed to be a part  of any other programme which the department wishes to conduct in near future.

The students felt extremely happy with the energy  filled talk by Yalla Siva Prasad garu.

Principal Dr.C.Krishna  expressed his joy over the conduct of a very useful programme aimed  at students  capacity building  in a new dimension in space research.
