CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMME by IQAC and Research Committee

With the growing importance of Research in Higher Education, a programme which could provide an insight on quality publications, bring awareness on funding agencies, motivate the young faculty towards research projects was planned by IQAC and Research Committee.

In this context, A one day Capacity Building programme on Research Publication – Importance of Journal Metrics funded by UGC under the chairmanship of the Principal Dr. C. Krishna garu was organized on 18.11.2017.

In the morning session, the resource person from Dept. of Biotechnology, Krishna University Machilipatnam, Dr. VEERA BRAMHA CHARI GARU, elaborated on the calculation of API Score in the category of research depending on the type of Journal, number of contributors, books published, chapters edited, etc., In his highly structured power point presentation on funding agencies, calculation of Impact factor and H-index, he stressed upon Plagiarism and ethical values of a researcher.

In the afternoon session, Dr. P. ANIL garu, Academic Officer, CCE congratulated the college team for obtaining NAAC A grade and spoke on the need for sustaining the quality of the institution by securing a good rank in NIRF too, particularly by strengthening the Research atmosphere. He urged the faculty to register themselves in Research Gate. His talk also threw light on various perspectives on which an institution would be graded by NIRF. 

The Principal speaking on the occasion lauded both the resource persons for the authority  with which they engrossed the participants all through their deliberations.

The participants exchanged their views and very enthusiastically interacted with the speakers of the day. In their feedback they thanked both the IQAC Co-Ordinator Dr. V.Anantha lakshmi and Research Committee Co-Ordinator Dr. K. Jyothi for arranging a very resourceful programme.

Vice-Principal, Sri. Varaprasad garu, UGC Co-Ordinator Dr. P. Hariram Prasad garu, members of the Research Committee, other members of the staff coordinated the programme.

 58 faculty from the parent institution, 43 faculty from Institutions in and around Kakinada 39 UG and PG students participated in the programme.
